This week we got a "new" game in the arcade (now to me at least--I've never played it before bit it's been out for a few years). I've never been much of a pusher buff, but Rick & Morty: Blips and Chitz has immediately caught my attention. I figured it would be a good opportunity for this week's post to share some thoughts on the gameplay, fun factor, and mechanics.

How's the Gameplay?

The first thing that grabed my attention about this coin pusher is the theme. It really is decked out with vibrant artwork from Rick & Morty and audio clips of the characters, instantly pulling you into the show’s universe. But beyond the look, the gameplay itself is pretty straightforward and satisfying.

Rick & Morty fly in their ship across the backboard as you aim your coins to light up their headlights. When you do, you unlock "double points" for the chitz (or large colored tokens on the playfield). You can also aim to dump the large chitz bucket or add more blips (marbles) to the playfield. The spinner at the top will also determine if you get more chitz, blips, or winn the mega seed bonus. I'll admit I haven't been able to play through all of the features, but I do very much enjoy when "party time" unlocks and it feels a bit like a frenzy of coins and points. These mini-games add variety and keep you engaged beyond the usual coin dropping.

How Fun Is It, Really?

I found the game surprisingly addictive. The combination of more modern coin pusher mechanics/mini games with the Rick & Morty theme makes it more than just your run-of-the mill pusher machine. I know it's far from the first coin pusher to have mini games and unique goals, but none have really caught my eye quite like this one. I've played through pushers like Avengers, Willy Wonka, Castlevania, and much more. For some reason though, this one sort of gave me a Galaga vibe--aiming for the chip with the coins to shoot.

The sound effects and animations are spot on, capturing the show’s humor and style. It’s clear the designers wanted to create an experience that feels like stepping into the Blips and Chitz arcade from the show. For fans of Rick & Morty, this adds an extra layer of enjoyment--I know it did for me. But even if you’re not a die-hard fan, the coin pusher’s pacing and variety make it fun to play.

Final Thoughts on Rick & Morty’s Blips and Chitz Coin Pusher

This coin pusher stands out because it respects the classic arcade formula while adding enough new elements to keep things interesting. The Rick & Morty theme is more than just decoration, it’s woven into the gameplay and rewards--which is something I really appreciate. So many modern pushers just feel like mini games that have nothing to do with the theme being added "just because." If you want a coin pusher that offers more than just dropping coins and hoping for the best, this one is certainly a good option. It’s fun, engaging, and has plenty of surprises that make each coin shot feel unique.
